The Peace Church Endowment Fund

The Peace Endowment Fund was established in 2007 to give members a way to continue Christian stewardship beyond their lifetime. The funds that are contributed are never distributed and the value is adjusted annually for inflation. This ensures that gifts help today, but also for generations to come. The Endowment Fund makes distributions only from the income and market value increases on the investments of the funds.
About $163,000 has been contributed to the fund. Gifts to the Endowment Fund are designated for Missions, Missionaries and/or Educational Scholarships. Contributions have been made as a memorial to a loved one, a Qualified Charitable Deduction from an IRA (must be 70 ½), a beneficiary of an estate, and many other ways. The current balance is about $275,000.
The first distribution was made in 2014 and the Endowment fund has made distributions every year since. The fund has distributed over $84,000 to Missions, Missionaries and Scholarships.
In January of each year the committee meets to go over the year-end financial reports and decides how much the fund can distribute. The Endowment’s bylaws and policies have quite strict guidelines on how much the fund can distribute. Watch for an announcement of the funds that are available for distribution annually in mid February.

2025 Scholarships Are Available
The Peace Church Endowment Committee is pleased to announce that once again in 2025 it has funds available to award to qualified applicants.
Funds will be available in the following amounts for the following categories:
Missionaries & Missions: $9,000
Applicants must be serving as a missionary or be a mission with religious or charitable purposes. This may include missions such as Feed My Starving Children, Union Gospel Mission, Meals on Wheels, and lots of other entities that provide a charitable mission.
Endowment Fund: $1,500
These scholarships are available for any student attending a post-secondary school in the Fall of 2024.
Schermer Scholarship: $1,500
These scholarships are available to any student attending a post-secondary Christian school in the Fall of 2024.
Submit applications by March 15, 2025
Interested parties need to complete and submit the Endowment Fund Application between February 15 and March 15, 2025. Please contact any of the Endowment Fund Committee members with questions.
