LIFE TRAINING

COME TRAIN WITH US!!

Philippians 3 says,
12Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

At some point in our life we will all train for something we want or need to accomplish whether it is a sporting event, a band or choir concert, or a test in school. The fact is that if we want to be better at something we have to train our bodies, our minds and our lives for that event.

It is no different when we want to lead a Christ centered life. We need to put as much training into our Christian life that we do in our athletic life. Such training takes time, dedication, energy, vision. It also helps in the game of life to know the rules of the game. (2 Timothy 2:5) the more we read the Bible, pray and interact with God, and talk to others about who God truly is, the closer we are to winning the TRUE prize.

Life Training

  • 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 says to go into strict training to get the prize.
  • 1 Timothy 4:7-8 says spiritual training builds character.
  • Philippians 3:20 says the true prize is Heaven.
  • Hebrews 12:2 says "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus."

We need to focus on Jesus in our Christian lives, just like we focus on the finish line or the goal in athletics. Peace Church Student Ministries has an ACTIVE way of training. We train our hearts, and our physical bodies by having fun with games, reading awesome words from the Bible, memorizing and applying it to our lives.

  • Senior guys meet with Travis Lukin
  • All Sr. high guys Basketball Bible study meet once a month with Greg Ellingson
